Goo Goo Dolls join Def Leppard and The Struts for a multi-act rock concert at Chase Center in San Francisco, California, on May 5, 2027. This Concerts event in the Pop / rock category brings three distinct rock acts to the Mission Bay arena. Prices currently start around $120, with costs varying by seat location and availability.
Formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1986, the Goo Goo Dolls developed from punk and alternative beginnings into a prominent pop-rock band. Led by vocalist and guitarist John Rzeznik and bassist and vocalist Robby Takac, the group reached a major audience with Dizzy Up the Girl (1998), featuring “Iris,” “Slide” and “Black Balloon.” Other notable songs include “Name,” “Here Is Gone” and “Big Machine.”
“Iris,” famously featured in the film City of Angels, became one of the band's defining songs and a lasting singalong favorite. The group has continued recording and touring across a career spanning more than three decades; its 2022 album, Chaos in Bloom, added newer material to a catalogue built around melodic hooks and emotionally direct songwriting.
For this San Francisco date, the Goo Goo Dolls appear on a bill with Def Leppard and The Struts. The supplied event information does not specify the running order, set lengths or opening-act designations. Chase Center's location in Mission Bay places the show amid a modern waterfront district, with the arena's outdoor Chase Center Plaza providing a gathering space around event nights.
Opened in 2019, Chase Center is a modern, 18,064-capacity arena and home of the Golden State Warriors. Its seating levels include the floor, Lower Bowl, Club Level and Upper Level. Concert configurations can differ by production, so check the event's seating map before choosing a section.
For a closer view of the stage, floor seats and centrally positioned Lower Bowl sections are options to consider, depending on the stage layout. Club Level seating combines strong sightlines with premium amenities, while the Upper Level offers a broader view of the arena. Upper-level corner seats may feel more distant from the performance. ADA-accessible seating is available throughout the venue.
Parking near the arena can be limited, so advance planning is recommended. Public transit is a practical alternative: the Muni T-Third Street line stops at Chase Center, and rideshare pickup and drop-off zones are available nearby.
The on-site garage is convenient but may be costly and can fill early, so consider reserving ahead or using transit. For event updates and ticket information, visit ticketssanjose.net.
